There is something for everyone at SouthFest!
Close to 200 organisations big and small are collaborating to deliver one big party that will bring the whole community together for a day of celebration, markets, food, activity and entertainment.
SouthFest are looking for businesses and organisations, community groups and individuals to join the party as stallholders, performers and volunteers.
We ask everyone to bring ideas that will add to the fun and excitement at this family friendly event - but most importantly ideas that will connect with our community and showcase what life on the South side of Canberra is all about.
SouthFest is planning to create several zones that will link together to bring the whole event precinct to life.
Supported by The Markets Wanniassa, the SouthFest Marketplace is the place to shop in the lead up to Christmas. The Marketplace will feature handmade and vintage stalls along with other local businesses and products, handmade workshops and more.
A selection of food vendors sharing some of the best food our region can offer. In 2019 Eat Street will include a pop up bar so that patrons can sit back and enjoy the atmosphere.
The Fun Park will feature free activities to keep children amused for hours. The areas will include emergency services stalls and demonstrations, as well as a place for families (caregivers) to sit and relax.
SouthFest is all about showcasing our local businesses and services. This is the opportunity for our local businesses to connect with community right alongside hours of entertainment for kids of all ages.
An area focussed on managing our resources in a sustainable way, the organisations and businesses within the Sustainability Showcase will present products, ideas, innovation and knowledge about leading a more sustainable life.
Anchored with the School Showcase Stage and the Community Engagement Corridor, the Community Connect Hub will feature community groups, organisations and agencies that provide community information, community service or activities that make our community a better place to live.
This precinct is focussed on connecting our community with businesses, organisations and activities that encourage activity, health and wellbeing. A feature of the precinct is the Vikings Sports Hub and up to three demonstration/come and try spaces. Businesses and organisations can register to hold a 30minute come and try or demonstration session which will be promoted in SouthFest programs.
An area focussed on 0-5 year olds (and their parents). This area will feature playgroup activities, inflatables and activities for toddlers and pre-schoolers as well as practical areas for breastfeeding and baby change. Perfect for early learning, preschool sports and other organisations keen to deliver something for young children.
An area focussed on showcasing the talent, activities and opportunities for youth in the region, coodinated by the YWCA Canberra.
New for 2019! SouthFest will take attendees indoors for a pop culture and table top gaming exhibition. This area will include demonstrations and activities for everyone to join in.
